New feat for Arthur Guérin-Boëri.
The French freediver broke an absolute record on March 7 at Wakefield in Canada.
Dressed in a simple swimsuit, he immersed himself in the water of a frozen lake at 0.7°C, before traveling 105 m under a thick layer of ice, without breathing and without fins.
An exceptional performance in the world of apnea, men and women alike.
The previous record, 103m, was held by Finland's Johanna Nordblad.

Thick ice... or not: what you need to know before walking on a frozen lake
“It's abominably hard, it's scary.
This is not only related to the layer of ice above the head but also to the physiological reactions of a long apnea in icy water.
The body reacts very strongly.
In a jersey, the bites of the cold are out of proportion and you slip much less, ”explained the 37-year-old from Nice to journalists, before flying to Canada.
It took him two years of training to achieve this result.
This is not Arthur Guérin-Boëri's first feat.
On March 25, 2021, he broke the ice swimming world record by swimming 120m in apnea, but wearing a wetsuit.
