In an old brochure, Aldi Süd offered band shirts with AC/DC and KISS imprints.

A Twitter user has now dug up the excerpt again.

Why the net is laughing about it:

If you think of fans of rock music and metal bands like AC/DC, KISS, Deep Purple or Metallica, clichés like long beards and black T-shirts that differ only in the band name come to mind.

That's not the case in real life, of course - and you can't tell most people what music they're listening to.

However, the sight of various band shirts that were offered in a brochure from Aldi* now causes mockery on the Internet.

HEIDELBERG24* reveals what Twitter users find so funny about it:

Twitter user shows prospectus excerpt – “So this is what ACDC fans look like at Aldi today”

A Twitter user has now apparently taken a photo of an Aldi Süd brochure from his archive, which probably dates from 2018.

Even then, the prospectus excerpt had already caused mockery on the Internet, such as computerbild.de reported.

Back then, the discounter advertised band shirts with the names of AC/DC and KISS on them.

The garments are worn by two women and one man.

The latter holds an acoustic guitar in his hand and grins at the camera through his sunglasses.

The women next to it, on the other hand, seem to have been instructed to "laugh like you're having the best day of your life".

In the background you can see trees and a bright blue sky.

Aldi brochure causes laughter on the Internet: Twitter users react so funny

The trio from the Aldi brochure is intended to convey joy, as is probably intended, but it does so differently than hoped.

Because on Twitter it rains sarcastic comments for the way the AC/CD and KISS shirts are advertised.

"So this is what the #ACDC fans look like at #ALDI today...", writes the creator of the tweet, for example.

"They probably think AC/DC is alternating current," comments another user, alluding to the fact that the abbreviation stands for "alternating current/direct current" in English.

However, another Twitter user seems to like Aldi's band shirts so much that he is willing to give something very valuable for them "Swap a roll of toilet paper for an ACDC t-shirt." Considering that toilet paper due to shortage of resources could currently become scarce again*, he should perhaps withdraw the offer again.

As BW24 reports, rapeseed and sunflower oil are also becoming scarce in many supermarkets*.

Aldi: Fans are upset about the KISS logo – wrongly

A detail in the advertising photo causes anger among several commentators.

It's about the "KISS" shirt, which is supposed to show a "wrong" spelling of the band's name.

Because with the correct spelling - which caused a great deal of discussion in the 1970s - the two S at the end of the name are very similar to the SS runes of the Nazis.

Up until 2019, there were repeated lawsuits against people who publicly displayed the KISS logo in its original form.

So it's no wonder that the band has been using a different font in Germany since 1980.

This is also what the model from Aldi Süd wears in the photo of the brochure.

The advertising for a popular product in the online shop of the discounter giant shows that an offer from Aldi can also quickly spread widely online.

Here, the price given caused a lot of confusion* – and Aldi's clarification was a pleasant surprise.
