The Eiffel Tower in Paris has grown six meters in height.
According to the Eiffel Tower Society, a new radio antenna weighing 350 kilograms was installed on the top of the landmark by helicopter.
The antenna is used to transmit digital radio in the greater Paris area.
The Eiffel Tower is now 330 meters high.
The installation had been prepared for a year and, according to the operator, cost around one million euros.
"It's a historic moment, the Eiffel Tower continues its history as a place of technological and scientific experiments," said Jean-François Martins, head of the Eiffel Tower Society Sete.
Six meters after 22 years
The last time the Eiffel Tower had gained a little height was 22 years ago when another antenna was installed.
A large number of antennas have been attached to the top of the structure for a long time.
The first French radio program was even broadcast from the Eiffel Tower more than 100 years ago.
