Monday evening, TF1 programmed the first television program bringing together in prime time and live the main candidates for the presidential election of 2022. Precisely, eight of the twelve contenders for the Élysée, including Emmanuel Macron, were invited, not to debate , but to express themselves in turn in front of the French.

A kind of great oral, which gathered a total of 4.2 million viewers on average, or 20% of the public, according to figures from Médiamétrie.

A first audience peak of 5.9 million people was achieved in the first minute of the show.

Then a second, at 5.2 million was recorded at 9:02 p.m.

Less audience than the duel between Pécresse and Zemmour

Baptized "France facing war", the program, presented by Anne-Claire Coudray and Gilles Bouleau allowed the channel to race at the top of the hearings last night.

This score is however lower than that recorded by the channel last week during the face-to-face between Valérie Pécresse and Eric Zemmour.

On TF1, the first twenty-five minutes of this debate moderated by Ruth Elkrief and Gilles Bouleau had gathered 5.6 million viewers on average, or 24% of the public.

The second part of the show, only on LCI, had attracted 1.4 million viewers on average between 8:45 p.m. and 9:40 p.m. This had enabled the news channel to achieve its highest audience since his creation.

If we compare with the previous presidential election, this score is also lower than the debate which was organized on March 20, 2017 on TF1 between the five main contenders at the time for the Élysée.

At the time, 9.8 million French people were passionate about the program.

But it was then a real debate between the candidates.
