More than 100,000 new cases have been reported in the past 24 hours. 20,609 patients are hospitalized with Covid-19.

The peak of the epidemic will be “end of March”, warned the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran.

“We knew there was a risk of a rebound.

It will go up for ten to fifteen days, until the end of March.

And then, we expect a decrease, ”explained Wednesday morning Olivier Véran.

The figures for the epidemic, published Thursday, attest to a drop in hospital pressure, despite higher contaminations.

This Thursday, according to figures from Public Health France, 20,609 patients are hospitalized with Covid-19.

That's 148 less than Wednesday (20,757) and 678 less than seven days ago (21,287).

The figures are also falling in critical care (continuous monitoring, intensive care, resuscitation), with 1,695 patients currently admitted to these services, against 1,728 on Wednesday and 1,928 last Thursday.

110 deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours, according to figures from Public Health France.

There were 145 on Wednesday over the same period, 100 last Saturday.

Since the start of the pandemic, 112,379 patients have died from Covid-19 in French hospitals.

More than 100,000 new cases

101,747 new contaminations have been identified in the past 24 hours.

There had been 108,832 the day before, but “only” 74,818 cases over the same period last Thursday.

Since the start of the recall campaign, 39,362,871 people have received a booster dose, reports the Directorate General of Health.
