"The fourth dose of vaccine for the whole population is not justified by scientific evidence today
and in no country in the world it is being done. We started with making it for the immunocompromised and we will check in the coming days whether to extend it to older population groups" .
This was stated by the Minister of Health
Roberto Speranza
, on the sidelines of the 48th congress of the Italian Federation of Pediatrics underway in Rome.
"The scientific evidence - he added - now does not tell us 'fourth dose for all', it tells us that we need to investigate and evaluate whether protection is needed for the higher age groups".
