"On this symbolic day - underlines Mattarella - that Parliament has chosen to establish, we have the opportunity to remember the many who are no longer there and, together, the contribution of those who have contributed to the safeguarding of collective health, to the functioning of essential services. Scientists and researchers, doctors, nurses, health personnel, public administrators, women and men of the Civil Protection, military and law enforcement, volunteers, have constituted a cornerstone on which we have been able to count. Our gratitude goes to all of them. ".

"The Republic is strongly committed to guaranteeing the rhythms of a renewed life of our community, without forgetting the lesson of what has happened" added the Head of State.

"

The spirit of sacrifice, the awareness of feeling responsible for one another, which the vast majority of our fellow citizens have shown they possess, constitute a precious heritage
