Free Italian language courses to allow Ukrainian refugees welcomed in Italy to integrate into our social fabric and face a new life.
The Dante Alighieri Society, the body chaired by Andrea Riccardi that has spread the Italian language and culture around the world since 1889, has decided to make its network of branches and committees available throughout the country to organize face-to-face courses, in the various locations, or even online.
The initiative, an expression of Dante Alighieri's identity linked to social responsibility and the same statutory roots, will be supported by a solidarity fund that has already been activated.
President Andrea Riccardi commented on the project as follows: "We would like language and culture to be the last frontiers to be closed and for this Dante Alighieri is creating teaching spaces for all war refugees arriving in Italy. Roma Capitale and with all the other Italian administrations who want to support our solidarity initiative ".
Contacts are underway with the Interior Ministry and other institutions.
The program, coordinated by the general secretary Alessandro Masi, starts with the Rome office and has already received the full participation of numerous educational centers (Benevento, Bolzano, Campobasso, Casarano, Catanzaro, Cosenza, Crotone, Enna, Forlì-Cesena, Genoa, Gorizia, Imola, La Spezia, Merano, Palermo, Perugia, Pordenone, Rovigo, Salerno, Siena, Syracuse, Terni, Trieste, Venice, Verbania, Vulture) and others are being added.
