The moderator Jeannine Michaelsen has been unmasked as the first celebrity in the new season of the music show "The Masked Singer".
The 40-year-old was in a colorful costume called "Brilli", but received too few votes from the audience on Saturday evening in Cologne.
So she had to take off the mask.
The »Brilli« costume had a special story: the fantasy creature with its oversized glasses was conceived by ten-year-old Emma, who had won a costume competition organized by ProSieben with it.
Now her creation was already over in the first show.
However, Michaelsen thanked the young costume designer extensively.
"Thank you for letting me be your 'Brilli'," said the moderator, who is known from the show "The Duel Around the World – Team Joko vs. Team Klaas".
Emma tried so hard.
"I tried to mentally revert to my ten-year-old self," says Michaelsen.
According to ProSieben, the “Brilli” costume was selected from around 15,000 designs.
In »The Masked Singer«, celebrities appear as singers, but hide their true identities behind opulent masks.
Only her voice and a few hints give an idea of who could be on stage.
After all, anyone who is kicked out of the show has to identify themselves.
The sixth season of the format started on Saturday.
"The Masked Singer" is to tour Germany as a show
Moderator Thore Schölermann announced during the show that "The Masked Singer" will be shown in several German cities in the future: "'The Masked Singer' is going on a tour of Germany," said the moderator.
Speaking about the content of the stage variant of the format, he added: »The most popular masks come through there.
We'll all guess a lot together."
ProSieben announced on its website that celebrities should also be there.
But that's all that can be revealed - the start is in March 2023. Cologne, Frankfurt, Leipzig, Munich and Berlin were among the stops mentioned.
"The Masked Singer" has been on ProSieben since 2019.
Celebrities appear as singers on the show, but hide their true identities behind opulent full-body costumes.
Only her voice and a few hints give an idea of who could be under the mask.
Gradually they are revealed.
Moderator is Matthias Opdenhövel.
In the first episode of the sixth season, however, he was represented by Thore Schölermann because of a corona infection.
