12 teams from outstanding schools qualify for the National Robotics Championship 2022

Twelve teams from outstanding schools in the governorates of “Damascus and its countryside, As-Suwayda, Homs, Aleppo, Hama, Lattakia and Tartous” succeeded in qualifying for the 2022 National Robot Championship.

The Excellence and Creativity Commission stated, in a statement that SANA received a copy of today, that the qualified teams are from Al-Basel School for Outstanding Students in Damascus “team” and from Sahnaya School for Outstanding Students in Damascus countryside “two teams” and from As-Suwayda the first Outstanding School “3” teams and the second Outstanding School “Team” and from Homs a school The first Al-Basel School for Outstanding Students “two teams” and from Lattakia Al-Kumait Bleedy School for Outstanding Students “a team”, and from Aleppo Al-Basel School for Outstanding Students “a team” and from Tartous the first School for Outstanding Students “a team”.

The teams qualified for the championship, according to the authority's statement, after they succeeded in the selection tests that were held for seventh and eighth grade students from 10 schools for outstanding students and within their governorates last February.

The Commission pointed out that the team selection tests were held for the first time in coordination and supervision between the Syrian Scientific Olympiad Administration and the Ministry of Education, after introducing the robotics activity to the schools of outstanding students from different governorates within its enrichment curriculum. By supporting these clubs with equipment, training supplies and efficient training cadres.

The authority indicated that the selection tests were limited to schools of outstanding students that have gone through advanced stages of training, while similar tests are held later for schools that have recently received "kits and equipment" to train the robot.

The National Robotics Championship for 2022 is scheduled to be held next August, and it qualifies for the World Robot Olympiad, which will be held in Germany in mid-November under the title “My Robot My Friend”, where participants are asked to design and develop robots to carry out multiple tasks in parks, laboratories and hospitals and apply them within an arena Race in the national and world championships.
