Mojo Sun: The perfect food answer to the world that defeated the Corona

This is how it is when you do not look at Tel Aviv, but you do see London and California

The point of accuracy of us all.

"Mojo Sun" (Photo: Walla !, Yaniv Granot)

How best for us to eat now, where do we * really * want to sit, what is the exact level of service that the eyes want to absorb, how much do we want to spend and where does the most delicious line pass - culinary and psychological alike - between "there is corona and everything has changed" and "there was corona and we want That everything will return "?

For all the columns of "eaters go"

these questions, and many like them, are not only the great challenge of Israeli restaurants (and the world, of course).

They are also not personal, though they are the most personal there is.

These questions, without exaggerated exaggerations and exaggerations, are the future.

Think about the last time you went out to eat, the next time you ordered something inside, and all the times you felt like in between, a little bit of this and a little bit of that, maybe this and maybe that, all this and all that.

Because a variant or not a variant, we got on the wave two years ago and something, and we still haven't gotten off it.

And precisely because of that, "Mojo Sun."

A lot of ventures have tried to put all these buzzwords under one roof just to see the basics collapse.

Here, however, they seem to have finally succeeded

Long years of activity have led the Netanya-owned "Mojo" square to launch what has been defined from day one as the first branch of an Asian boutique chain.

The food - kosher Asian - knows how to speak Western and Eastern alike.

The location - a piano complex in the Ir Yamim neighborhood in the city - neighborhood and community despite the huge towers rising to the skies from all sides.

And the concept?

West self-service and frontal gestures of real staff members, portable tablets and lockers for collection, digital "kiosk" stands and mobile messages, grab-and-go and sitting on the spot, shopping for clothes and lifestyle of housewares.

Oh, and also a lounge porch and sofas, branded figures and video art when it gets dark.

It's a bit much to soak up with the first entry to the venue, especially considering many other ventures that have tried to put all of these buzzwords under one roof just to see the basics collapse.

Here, however, they seem to have finally succeeded.

A pleasant surprise.

The menu follows in the footsteps of the best Asian-Israeli hits over the years, but makes sure to add its own invested covers.

From the beginning, Mojo Sun's menu base follows the plowed furrow of the best Asian-Israeli hits over the years, but makes sure to add - on the sidelines, but also in his heart - his own invested covers.

This means, in fact, that there is a sushi-rap section ("Latino-Asian burrito", as the place defines it, NIS 48-56, 72 along with a fun Babel Tea) invested with six different versions, a sushi plot (NIS 42-56 for an eighth roll, A little more than that for specials) Medium in size but relatively original in its approach, and also bans (twenty-something shekels per pair) small and accurate.

What more?

Fresh and appetizing salads (egg roll and gyoza of course, but also "spicy popcorn", a bowl of focaccia and "falafel portobello"), a triangle of soups including hot corn as well as classic and less classic rice and noodle dishes, in a good section.

A little pro-Mexico and a little United States and a little Far East, avocado sauce, and here comes the perfect defeat

And so, "Caribbean" sushi rap (ceviche salmon, cucumber, chili, almonds, lettuce, cabbage, basil, tomato-coriander aioli, NIS 56) was tried.

The rice leaf was skillfully rolled (and did not fall apart at all, no small matter in this dish) and included crispy almonds - something that could have been dismissed as a gimmick if it had not provided the right crunch at the right moment.

The filling - in excellent and generous quantity - gave a bit of pro-Mexico and a bit of the United States and a bit of the Far East, and the green avocado sauce closed out a perfect bite.

Two rolls - "spicy salmon" (salmon tartare, cucumber, Japanese mayonnaise, grilled salmon, beet chips, sriracha sauce, NIS 58) balanced and stir-fried and "rainbow" (red tuna, avocado, chives, aioli halfinio, chips Tempura, wrapped in salmon, NIS 62) Deep-tasting - proved a good hand in the back kitchen, and the "Pepper Ban" duo (shredded meat stew, pepper aioli, lettuce, cucumber, coriander, peanut powder, NIS 27) surprised from a wing I no longer thought would provide More surprises in our lives, with good meat, and lenders who know how to accompany it.

The fork collected chopped chicken, a piece of lettuce, thin, curling strips of cucumbers and a bit of coriander, dug into the sauce and came out of the depth of the bowl with something that might be defined as a "salad", but is much more of a "party"

further.

Two noodles in the form of "Thai Ka Pao" (chopped beef, rice, basil, pepper, onion, mint, egg and chili sauce, NIS 59) and "pepper noodles" (egg noodles, pepper sauce, goose breast, red onion , Green beans, broccoli, shimaji mushrooms, NIS 59) Continue the line.

That is, something we have already seen and eaten, which very quickly becomes something we have seen, eaten, and now it is a little tastier.

The first introduced a spicy beef stew in a way that is only slightly reminiscent of the Far East, with a sauce that does not rave in its spiciness, and an egg that, as usual, enhances everything it touches.

The second dish, ostensibly just noodles and goose in a smoked sauce, surprised with a deeper range, and dragged one basic question - why not actually put pepper sauce on everything?

There was also a salad, and it was not just saved for the end.

This is a huge "Ban Ban Chicken" (lettuce, cucumbers, chicken, coriander, peanuts, peanut-sesame sauce, NIS 55), whose ingredients were cut to the size of a fork, and were fresh and fresh, crispy and young.

The same fork picked up chopped chicken, a piece or two of lettuce, thin, curling strips of cucumbers and a bit of coriander, dug into the sauce and came out deep of the bowl with something that might be defined as a "salad" but is much more "party".

The shelves of "Mojo Sun" (Photo: Walla !, Yaniv Granot)

The people of "Mojo" have wanted "Mojo Sun" for a very long time.

They thought London and Berlin, "Sushirrito" in San Francisco and Burrito in California, and knew that in the end - and slowly from an epidemic - everything would converge at one end of the bustling expanse in the neighborhood.

The last sentence - which started in London and ended in Netanya, and was never intended to include Tel Aviv - is just one example of sentences I never thought I would be able to type, and in the present I type more and more.

And what about the future?

In the future you will come here especially, Destination-style, and you will not understand why people did it differently.
