(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 21 - A plot that recalls a roller coaster, between "climax, volatility, desire, tension, capable of always keeping you in suspense".

Thus the cast describes in the international press conference in streaming, the second season of Bridgerton, an event series that returns, after the global triumph of the first season, from March 25 with octopuntate on Netflix.

Produced by Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers and the creator and showrunner Chris Van Dusen, it is inspired by the novels of Julia Quinn, about the wealthy and noble London Bridgerton family in Regency England in the first half of the 1800s.

A sumptuous story also reinterpreted in a contemporary key, from the language to the multi-ethnic cast to a columnist that includes hits rearranged in a 'classic' version here with songs, among others, by Rihanna,

    After the first chapter on love with high doses of sensuality between Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon Bassett, Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page, who does not reappear this season), this time there are two new central characters: the already known Viscount Lord Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), the eldest of eight Bridgerton brothers and sisters, determined to find a wife worthy of the house, and the enigmatic, determined and charming Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley), who arrived in London with her mother (Shelley Conn) and brilliant younger sister Edwina (Charithra Chandran).

All between the emotional journeys of the various Bridgertons, such as the increasingly independent Eloise (ClaudiaJessie) or the 'artist' Benedict (Luke Thompson);

the elegant power of Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) and a high society that murmurs,

always fueled by the chronicles of lady Whistledown.

A world shaped by a cast that includes, among others, Nicola Coughlan, Ruth Gemmell, Adjoa Andoh, Polly Walker, Bessie Carter, Luke Newton, Rupert Young.

"In the story there is a love triangle, in which roles are reversed, even in the relationship between Kate and Edwina - underlines Simone Ashley -. They are characters, in their own way struggling with a test of survival, must collapse, to be reborn. the best of the other ".
