While hopefully in Turkey's predictions ("The deal is close"), the Russian-Ukrainian conflict is still in full swing with anti-aircraft sirens sounding in different regions of Ukraine and attacks on Odessa (from the sea) and Mariupol, with the population now exhausted.

After analyzing the online conversations on the attack on Ukraine, the spread of the hashtag # нетвойне (No War) on social media and Zelensky's use of social media, ANSA and DataMediaHub also analyzed how Putin is talked about on two of the main social platforms.

The posts on Facebook, in Italian, from 23 February to the early hours of 21 March, within the Facebook pages, public groups and verified profiles were analyzed.

Overall, in the time frame taken into consideration, there were more than 104 thousand posts relating to the Soviet leader.

These generated over 23.4 million interactions.

The three posts that generated the highest number of interactions are by Cristiano De André, in which the singer supports pacifist positions, shooting the video of a speech by Putin on March 6 last.

Video that had just under 5 million views, more than 112 thousand likes, over 30 thousand comments and 85 thousand shares.

On pacifist positions also the post of another singer, Jovanotti, and which totals around 129 thousand likes and love, more than 4 thousand comments and over 13 thousand shares.

While in third place we find the post by Lorenzo Tosa, a particularly active journalist on social media who tells the story of the national volleyball player Ivan Zaytsev, and whose post gets 144 thousand likes and love, just under 3 thousand comments and almost 16 thousand shares.

Also by Cristiano De André the most shared post, followed by that of Andrea Colletti, re-elected in the M5s lists for the XVIII legislature, in 2021 he was expelled from the parliamentary group for having voted against trust in the Draghi government, which proposes a monologue of Crozza.

Video that touches two million views, and gets 66 thousand likes, about 5 thousand comments and 62 thousand shares.

Trash TV, an account with around 350,000 followers, is the third most shared post.

Far fewer posts, always only in Italian, on Instagram, relating to Putin.

There are less than 6 thousand, but they generate 35 million interactions.

Here to dominate by number of interactions, and therefore by level of engagement are the posts of TMLplanet, an account with 5.5 million followers that places two of the three top posts for engagement.

The third is by Open your brain (718 thousand followers), who not even a couple of hours after the first Russian attack tries to describe all the drama.

In conclusion, Italians converse about Putin much more on Facebook than on Instagram.

The prevailing tenor of the posts that generate the most involvement is neutral, without clear support for one or the other or criticism of the attack by Russia.
