The rise of Canal+ will have taken six long years.
In 2016, when it was taken over by Vincent Bolloré, the group had very little international presence and suffered heavy losses.
“Since then, Canal+ has doubled its profitability to 480 million euros and has almost erased its losses in France.
We are now reaping the benefits of the profound transformations that we have undertaken”
, observes Maxime Saada, the chairman of its executive board.
The cultural revolution that shook Canal+ made it possible to reform its model around five major changes.
The main one being the expansion of the group outside France, a territory which now accounts for barely more than a third of the group's 24 million subscribers.
“We have moved Canal+'s center of gravity from France to the international stage.
We have strong roots in Africa and Europe, and we are developing in Asia”
, explains Maxime Saada.
