Over the past 20 years, 263 conflicts have taken place around water, and the latest UN report informs that by 2050 more than 50% of the world's population will live in regions with water shortages.

In this context, Italy celebrates the thirtieth World Water Day, on March 22, 2022, with the digital-talk "Water and Sustainable Nutrition".

"In this dramatic scenario we wanted to talk about 'water and sustainable nutrition' to offer the most beautiful perspective that water gives us: that of nourishing the life and not the death of every man", declares the president of Earth Day Italia. Pierluigi Sassi.

The organizers of the Village for the Earth, leading scientists starting with Massimo Inguscio, emeritus professor of Physics of Matter, member of the Lincei academy and former president of Cnr, will take part in the event of Earth Day Italy and the Focolare Movement, and Professor Angelo Riccaboni, president of the Prima Foundation and former Rector of the University of Siena.

Civil society figures such as the president of the Water Grabbing Observatory, Marirosa Iannelli, the explorer Alex Bellini and the chef Simone Salvini will also participate.

The event will be broadcast live from 10.30 on the ANSA.it and Earthday.it portals, and will be available on record on Vaticannews.va.

It will be an opportunity for the announcement of the third edition of the #OnePeopleOnePlanet multimedia marathon.
