In Prague, in the Nusle district on Mojmírova street, a mural appeared this morning depicting a little girl protecting herself with a blanket.
The blanket has the colors blue and yellow, those of the Ukrainian flag.
Together with her, in this makeshift refuge there are puppets that represent characters from stories, comics and cartoons for children but they are not random characters: there is the German Maya bee, the Czech mole, the Poles Lölek and Bolek , the Finnish Moomintroll, the French Obelix, the American Mickey Mouse and the British Gromit.
The author of the mural, the Czech street artist of Kazakh origin ChemiS wanted to represent Ukraine which protects itself but also the rest of Europe.
"At the moment Ukraine is fighting not only for its own but also for our freedom - he wrote in a tweet -.
As a father of two children, I cannot imagine the helplessness, pain and fear that people feel.
We have all seen photos of lifeless bodies and destroyed cities and even sports halls and schools full of women with children and the elderly.
Please don't stop helping and showing the values of our society ”.
