A new WhatsApp function will probably soon be available for Android users.

Many should be happy about the new update.

Munich – Who does not know it: You took a great photo that you would like to share with the whole world and then there is this one photographed person in the group who torpedoes this plan.

"Oh dear, look how I look there" or "I don't want any photos of myself on the internet" are the legitimate reasons, of course, that have caused one or the other snapshot to go sour in the cell phone memory.

That's enough of that!

WhatsApp has developed a new feature that will soon be available to Android users as well: the eraser.

WhatsApp update: eraser function can make parts of an image unrecognizable

Sometimes you can obviously reinvent the proverbial wheel, as the popular instant messaging service WhatsApp proves.

While we tend to think of the analog everyday helper in red and blue when we hear the word "eraser", the app, which over two billion people worldwide use regularly, has included the digital "ratzefummel" in its program.

According to the

WABetaInfo

blog, the tool is installed in the “Send image” section.

Before sending a snapshot, the messenger service offers, for example, to add emojis, stickers or text.

Free drawing is also possible - and this is exactly where the new function is hidden.

Not only the thickness of the lines can now be varied.

According to

WABetaInfo

, an eraser should also be made available with which WhatsApp users can make parts of images unrecognizable.

The function is perfect for hiding license plates on photos, for example, or anonymizing people who do not want to be "sent".

Thanks to WhatsApp's new eraser function, self-made photo montages like the one shown here will no longer be necessary.

WhatsApp introduces new eraser function: The update will soon be available to everyone

While users of the iOS operating system have been able to enjoy this useful function for a long time, it is now likely that it will be available for other operating systems as well.

According to

WABetaInfo,

however, an exact point in time remains open for the time being.

However, to ensure that the tool does not gain notoriety primarily through its quirks, WhatsApp is still testing the beta version of the digital eraser for Android before the update is rolled out across the board.
