(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 23 - Banksy, the highly rated street artist of Bristol, took the field in favor of Ukraine by putting one of his works up for auction with the intention of financing the Ohmatdyt children's hospital, the largest pediatric hospital in Kiev.

Starting from a bidding base of 20,000 pounds, in the space of one day the online auction house, myartbroker.co, has announced that it now accepts only figures above 40,000 pounds.

A doubling due to the many people interested in buying Banksy's pacifist work which is entitled "CNDSoldiers" and was created in 2005. They are portraits of two soldiers who paint the symbol of peace and nuclear disarmament on a wall.

The online auction house created the ABanksy for Ucraine (ANSA) page for this sale.
