Before each flight, flight attendants and flight attendants witness quite a few interesting actions, bordering on bizarre, related to the superstitions of passengers.

Fodor's tourist site lists some of them, collected by air crew members.

Tap the plane

It looks like they are petting their dog or patting a friend's shoulder, only it happens with the plane.

It turns out that quite a few passengers, before passing through the boarding door, tend to pat or pat the fuselage, for good luck.

Some of them hide the act and seem to be supported for a moment on the fuselage, but there is no doubt - it is a touch that is entirely due to superstition.

There are air crew members who have even witnessed passengers repeating the tapping operations a fixed number of times, before moving on.

A real pat on the back.

And if they are not enough to tap on the plane their fixed number of times, they will even stand and delay the rest of the passengers, until the end of the ceremony.

"Two or three pats is the norm, but I have already seen passengers who knocked on the fuselage more than ten times," says one of the flight attendants interviewed for the article.

Arms and fly

If pats on the plane seemed like a weird piece to you, what about passengers who give the fuselage a wet and juicy kiss before takeoff?

It turns out that this also happens, especially in the metal part of the fuselage, which is to the right of the door.

True, this may not be the most filthy surface on the plane, but it's definitely not the most sterile place to stick your lips.

The cabin dance

True, it's much more implicit and invisible than wild dancing, but do not be surprised if you watch one of the passengers on the plane, while giving a tiny show on its way to its seat in the cabin.

It can be a half turn, a small foot knock or a short, playful sway.

This mostly happens right with boarding, and it always catches the attention of the crew, and also of the other passengers.

So consider.

Writers lines

So how many rows of seats are there on the plane?

Some will know exactly how to answer that.

These are passengers who get on a plane, and just count line by line, until they get to their seat.

Sometimes they continue even beyond their seat, and go back.

Some attribute numerological meanings to this, and some try to stop as soon as they reach their lucky number.

Just do not put them in the (unlucky) number 13, and everything will be fine.

The lucky bears

In the United States it is seen quite a bit: people who move around with service animals, designed for emotional support.

But what does one do who does not have a medical permit to bring the dog on a flight?

It turns out that quite a few passengers have adopted the habit of luck: flying with a live doll.

Furry bears for example.

For them, it is a virtue for safe travel.

Many will bury their lucky doll deep in the handbag, but there are flight attendants who have already seen passengers pull their favorite doll out of the bag, and seat it respectfully in their lap, with the seat belt of course.

One flight attendant said a passenger missed his flight after discovering at the airport that he had forgotten the lucky doll in the house.

"It's just not worth it," he explained of his actions.

The flying shirt

Did you wear a certain shirt for the flight and the plane landed safely?

So why not wear the same shirt for the next flight as well?

And maybe for all your next flights?

Turns out there are people who do just that.

And so, over the years, that lucky shirt starts to fade and wear out, but these passengers will continue to fly with it over and over again.

And if these shirts are already really tattered, there are those who will hide them deep under a sweater or jacket.

The main thing is that they know she's there.
