That was probably not planned: In Bavaria, even the SEK was alerted because of a bachelor party near Munich.
Four men wanted to "kidnap" the groom from Neubiberg to Mallorca on Tuesday in broad daylight, the police reported.
They wore balaclavas, pulled a sack over the head of the "kidnapped" and dragged him into a car.
An 80-year-old observed the situation and alerted the police.
The initially assumed a real kidnapping, according to the officials.
Operational costs of at least several thousand euros
The police searched for the car with several patrols and a helicopter.
"The officers' adrenaline levels were very high in the situation," said a police spokesman.
"A suspected kidnapping and hostage-taking is one of the most difficult situations." The emergency services finally discovered the car on the Autobahn towards Munich Airport.
The officers stopped it at the approach to the terminal.
It quickly became clear that it was a joke.
In contrast to the police, the men "certainly had fun" on the drive to the airport, according to another spokeswoman.
The special task force (SEK) was also alarmed, but did not move out.
It is still unclear whether the men will have to pay the deployment costs of at least several thousand euros themselves.
According to the police, the men still reached their plane to Mallorca.
