Ice Cream Recall: Plant Poison Found - Several Well-Known Brands Affected

Frozen versions for hot days have been available for a long time alongside the Bounty and Twix chocolate bars and the colorful lentils from M&M's.
A large part of the ice cream products are now being recalled.

Recall: Plant toxin in ice cream products cannot be ruled out
According to the manufacturer, it cannot be ruled out that the products contain “minimal amounts of ethylene oxide (ETO) in the ingredients locust bean gum and guar gum”.
According to the North Rhine-Westphalia consumer advice center, ETO is “a
plant protection and fumigant and is used to combat bacteria and fungi

Mars GmbH states that "[it] [...] cannot be ruled out that the products mentioned contain minimal amounts of ethylene oxide (ETO) in the ingredients locust bean gum and guar gum."
