Weeds in the lawn are not harmful, but many garden lovers are disturbed by the sight.
If you want to do without chemicals, you should have pasta water ready.
Whether in the lawn or in the flower bed - sooner or later annoying weeds will sprout everywhere.
This is not harmful per se, but many people are disturbed by the sight, especially on the lawn.
If you want to remove
weeds such as stinging nettles, horse thistle, goutweed or dandelion
from the garden, you have many options - including completely natural home remedies.
Home remedies for weeds in the lawn - try pasta water
The most environmentally friendly way to remove weeds is, of course, weeding.
When
weeding
, the whole plant, including the roots and runners, is simply pulled out of the ground by hand or removed with a tool.
If this is too tedious for you and you want to do without chemicals, weeds can also be tackled with all sorts of home remedies:
Ash:
Just sprinkle some charcoal ash on the weeds in the fall.
This prevents them from springing up again in the spring.
Do not let dandelions bloom:
To at least prevent the spread of dandelions and other weeds, simply cut off the flower heads.
Hot pasta water:
To combat weeds, you should not pour the leftover pasta water down the drain, but rather pour the hot water over dandelions and the like.
This causes the plant to die.
Then pull the weeds out of the ground and pour some of the hot water over the spot again.
So the whole organism dies.
Weeds in the lawn: Avoid household remedies such as vinegar and salt
Even if many people swear by it when cleaning: you should avoid using household remedies such as vinegar and salt to combat weeds.
Vinegar and salt are officially banned as weed killers.
The concentration of these substances in the soil would become too high - plants, insects and soil would be overburdened.
If you are not only struggling with weeds but also with moss in your lawn, you should try old coffee grounds.
