The Dutch Mathieu Van der Poel (Alpecin Fenix) leaves his mark at the Coppi and Bartali Cycling Week, winning the fourth stage at the Montecatini Terme finish.
A success arrived in the sprint, but after Van der Poel himself had gone on the run about seventy kilometers from the finish: resumed when there were ten, he found the strength to beat everyone on viale Giuseppe Verdi anyway.
Second Ethan Hayter (Inoes-Grenadiers), third the Belgian Remy Mertz (Bingoal Pauwels), while the Irish Ed Dunbar, arrived in the leading group, keeps the leader's jersey of the general.
The fifth and last stage of the Coppi and Bartali International Week 2022 will take place tomorrow in memory of Franco Ballerini.
The departure will in fact take place from Casalguidi, the place where the unforgettable champion and national team coach lived and where there is also a stele in his honor.
