After Israel Today's exposures: Department heads protest the Ministry of Health's disregard • Prof. Doron Koppelman, one of the leaders of the doctors' struggle at the hospital:

An unusual confrontation took place last Friday between department heads at Haemek Hospital in Afula and Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz, after the directors protested that the minister and the Ministry of Health management ignored their ongoing struggle against the Clalit HMO, the owner and head of the hospital.

This, on the grounds of the neglect, discrimination and ongoing discrimination of the hospital and of about one million Israelis.

The confrontation took place as part of a conference of hospital administrators held this weekend at the Kibbutz Kfar Blum Hotel in the Hula Valley.

The department heads from the "Valley" came to the conference and carried signs that read: "Enough discrimination against residents of the north," "Enough of neglecting the Valley Hospital," "Health in the periphery equals national security," "Enough discrimination" and "Medicine in the north - the ugly face of governments." .

Following the doctors' protest at a conference in Afula, a first meeting was scheduled for this morning (Monday) between Minister Horowitz and the committee of department directors in the "Valley," which is scheduled to take place at the Minister's office in Tel Aviv.

Prof. Doron Koppelman, director of the surgical department at Haemek and one of the leaders of the doctors' struggle at the hospital, said in an interview with Israel Today yesterday: "I hope that the Minister of Health will help resolve the crisis at the hospital. "The valley to Israel's central hospital in the valleys and in the Galilee, after decades of very severe neglect of the hospital by Clalit and the state health fund."

The struggle of the department heads in the "Valley" has been exposed in recent weeks in "Israel Today," in which the department heads raised serious allegations of continued discrimination, neglect and discrimination of the hospital.

Among other things, serious and serious complaints were exposed about the risk to children's lives due to extreme loads.

Severe complaints from doctors were also revealed that corona patients in critical condition had died due to lack of care and complaints from department heads that the conduct of one of the directors of the medical institutes was "unprofessional to the point of indifference to harm to patients".

There was no improvement

As you may recall, about a week ago, "Israel Today" published complaints from patients with rare and life-threatening blood diseases and from the two senior doctors who treat them.

Those same doctors have been complaining for months about an extreme shortage of medical staff and inadequate treatment conditions for patients, who regularly receive life-saving blood transfusions.

However, despite the complaints, there was no improvement in the severe distress.

Meanwhile, a week ago, Judge Miron Schwartz of the Nazareth Labor Court upheld a ruling on the mediation agreement between the Clalit Health Fund and Dr. Ziv Rosenbaum.
