(ANSA) - NEW YORK, MARCH 27 - The Oscars paid tribute to the "Godfather" for the 50th anniversary of the release of the first film of the trilogy in theaters: a standing ovation welcomed FrancisFord Coppola and the two stars of the Corleone saga, Al Pacino and Robert de Niro, on the Academy Awards stage.
Coppola dedicated "from the bottom of his heart" the tribute to two people who are no longer there: the writer Mario Puzo and the producer Robert Evans with whom he had long been at the court during the making of the films.
