Here we go again: The Oscars were awarded in Los Angeles - and this time the gala took place again in front of and with a larger audience.

With twelve nominations, the film »The Power of the Dog« was this year's Oscar favorite, starring British actor Benedict Cumberbatch.
He arrived in Hollywood with his wife Sophie Hunter - and he, like several other celebrities that night, expressed his solidarity with Ukraine.
Cumberbatch wore a blue and yellow button, and some of his colleagues wore blue ribbons that read "WithRefugees."

And another couple on the Oscar carpet: actress Nicole Kidman and musician Keith Urban.
Kidman was nominated for Best Actress for her work in the film Being the Ricardos.

Steven Spielberg, Rita Moreno and Ariana DeBose pose together for photographers: they worked together on the remake of West Side Story.
DeBose was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the beginning of the gala, while Spielberg was nominated for Best Director.

Jane Campion is the first woman in Oscars history to be nominated for Best Director twice.
In March 1994 she was in contention for The Piano but lost to Steven Spielberg.
With her western »The Power of the Dog« she now had another chance to win the coveted director's Oscar - and this time she won it.

Kirsten Dunst plays a supporting role in The Power of the Dog - so well that she was nominated for an Oscar this year.
Alongside her is her partner and actor Jesse Plemons - who in turn was in the running for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the same film.
However, both went empty-handed.
