(ANSA) - ROME, MARCH 28 - The President of the Senate, Elisabetta Casellati met the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, a Lamaltese speaker, during the Conference of Presidents of the European Union Parliaments underway in Slovenia.
As reported in a note from Palazzo Madama, at the center of the talks were the European migration and asylum policy, support for Ukraine's European path and security concerns on the southern border of Europe.
For the President of the Senate, "a unitary and credible Europe in European foreign policy and defense must be the guiding star of our political action" as an essential condition for being able to defend our values of freedom, democracy, social and economic development for our cities and for our neighbors ".
The two presidents will meet again on May 5 in Rome.
