The Rodez Criminal Court on Tuesday gave former SAM employees one week to stop occupying the factory of this Renault subcontractor in Aveyron, which has been in liquidation since November 2021. It also sentenced the three CGT representatives of the former employees to reimburse the legal costs to the legal representatives.

During the hearing on March 24 on this request for expulsion presented by the legal representatives, the prosecutor had considered that there was a problem of "

" while considering that there was no urgency to decide this question.

The agents had asked the Rodez court on March 1 to pronounce "
the eviction without delay
" of the people occupying the site of this former Renault subcontractor, underlining in particular the "
imminent danger of the maintenance in service on the site of furnaces containing molten aluminum
.
A recovery project under study
On March 4, the court of Rodez, had found that a consultation between former employees and agents, with the mediation of the prefect of Aveyron, had made it possible to move towards an agreement to stop the ovens.
Since then, the furnaces containing molten aluminum have been shut down.

The former employees who occupy the Viviez factory, in the former mining basin of Decazeville, want in particular to prevent an auction of the machines by the agents, fearing that it will discourage the resumption of the foundry.
A takeover project, carried by the company MH Industries, based in the neighboring Lot, was unveiled by Bercy and the Occitanie region in February.
It is currently under study.
