US pop star Taylor Swift receives an honorary doctorate from New York University (NYU).
The 32-year-old received an honorary doctorate in fine arts, the university announced.
The singer will also speak at the graduation ceremony at Yankee Stadium for the 2022 graduates.
Swift is "one of the most prolific and celebrated artists of her generation," NYU said.
She is the only artist in history to have won the music industry's top accolade, the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, three times.
The university also noted the singer's numerous other accolades, hailing Swift as "the only solo artist of this century to have three albums at number one in one year."
Five more honorary doctorates will be awarded at the May 18 ceremonies for the graduates of the youngest three years, according to NYU.
Another recipient is the activist Judith Heumann, 74, who has been campaigning for the rights of disabled people for decades.
