Sparkling water makers are in constant use in many kitchens.

To ensure that limescale and germs don't stand a chance, they must be cleaned regularly.

A home remedy will help.

Water bubblers can now be found in many German kitchens.

No wonder, after all, they promise refreshing sparkling water without having to lug around heavy boxes - and relatively inexpensively, with water from the tap.

But continuous use leaves unsightly marks on many devices that require thorough cleaning and descaling.

Special cleaning tabs are not necessary for this - a proven household remedy is sufficient.

Sparkling water makers are in constant use in summer - and have to be descaled every now and then.

Descale the sparkling water maker – with natural citric acid:

No chemical descalers need to be used to thoroughly clean limescale and germs from the sparkling water maker.

If you have citric acid in the house, you can use it for basic cleaning.

The soda maker manufacturer

Sodastream

also recommends this .

Soda makers should be descaled

about

every four weeks in order to function properly.

Here's how to do it:

  • Pour 50 ml of liquid citric acid (advertising link) into a sparkling water bottle and fill the bottle with lukewarm water up to the fill line.

  • Now screw the bottle into the water bubbler and press the bubbler button once.

  • Now let the descaling mixture work for about 15 minutes.

  • Finally, press the bubbler button again to release the last residue from the nozzle.

  • Now rinse the bottle thoroughly.

  • To remove the last remains of the citric acid, fill the bottle again with lukewarm water, press the bubbler button and then pour the water down the spout.

By the way, you can keep your sink clean for weeks with a simple trick.

  • Finally, rinse the bottle again and let it dry well - the water bubbler is already decalcified and thoroughly cleaned!

Descale the sparkling water maker - you have to pay attention to that

Be careful not to get too hot!

Will

When citric acid is dissolved in hot water, so-called calcium citrate can form.

This is reflected in the devices as a hard-to-dissolve, white deposit and thus leads to damage.

You should therefore only use lukewarm water up to approx. 40° C to decalcify sparkling water makers.

Other devices in the house should also be descaled regularly, such as the faucet, the coffee machine or the shower head in the bathroom.

This extends their lifespan and they will enjoy them for a long time.

Citric acid is not the only natural home remedy for this – vinegar essence also works wonders against dirt and limescale.
