It doesn't matter whether it's petrol or diesel - refueling is currently more expensive than ever.
But a simple trick can get the fuel into the tank a lot cheaper.
Munich - "And petrol also costs three marks ten", singer Markus didn't care in 1982: he wanted fun - you may remember.
If you take the original exchange rate of 2:1, he would probably stop laughing at today's fuel prices: 4 marks and more, that's what gasoline currently costs at German gas stations.
But the good news is, if you own a watch, you can still get the most fun out of the tap.
Gasoline: Price depends on the time
It's like this: Depending on the time of day, there are fluctuations in the price of petrol - at almost all petrol stations.
The phenomenon also affects diesel, E10 and Co., but the question of price is currently the most virulent for petrol - the current price of petrol has even caused some non-recommended alternative fueling, as the video above shows.
The reason is the old principle of the market economy: supply and demand.
As different gas stations compete with each other, they regularly adjust the gas price in order to attract as many customers as possible to their pumps - even a mental fitness offer is sometimes included for free.
For consumers, the mechanism of action means exaggeratedly: refuel when nobody else is doing it.
Filling up: Gasoline and Co. - At this time the fuel is cheapest
Whether you get a tank discount or not - when you should fill up is ultimately a question of timing.
With a bit of life experience, the - literally - favorable and unfavorable times can be easily identified:
Petrol
and the like are expensive, especially in the morning;
because commuters with an empty tank are practically forced to go to the petrol pumps.
Since the volume of commuter traffic is also very high in the morning, the demand is high - and the supply is correspondingly expensive.
According to the ADAC
, however, fuel is cheaper in the evenings between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. and between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. – because not many road users fill up their vehicles at these times.
But if you are not on the road at exactly these times, the following rule applies: the price curve for fuel falls over the course of the day.
Peak values when refueling can be seen at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. - so the following applies: the later, the better.
But it shouldn't be too late, because after 10:00 p.m., petrol, diesel and fuel are significantly more expensive again.
Reason: Many gas stations close at night, so that the offer is reduced - and the price increases.
Cheap fuel: refueling with petrol and Co. at the best price - the expert level
Those who heed these tips will do well.
However, if you want to become an expert in the field of "fuelling without expensive", there are two points that you should consider for the fine-tuning:
Location:
The choice of filling station also plays an important role when it comes to the question of what has to be deducted per liter of fuel.
Motorway gas stations are usually more expensive than those off the highway.
The reason is also here: If the fuel gauge lights up on an "A" route, you don't have much of a choice - the tank needs food.
Furthermore, independent gas stations are usually cheaper than those of oil companies.
Gasoline and Co. are particularly cheap at Jet or Star.
The so-called tank tourism is also worthwhile from time to time.
App:
Anyone who is now wondering how to keep an eye on the various options can do it easily: There are now various apps that conveniently list the best offers in terms of refueling - a real insider tip with a personalized search and price alarm for fuel savers.
The fact that you can fill up with these tricks for less than three marks ten, i.e. 1.60 euros per liter, would be a masterpiece at the moment, but it would be a little more fun if petrol, diesel and co. were cheaper in the car Tank hiking - you just shouldn't overdo it.
