(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 01 - Thunderstorms, snowfalls even at low altitudes and wind: the vast depression area over most of Europe brings humid and moderately unstable masses of air to Italy.
Precipitation from scattered to widespread, including storms, is expected to be more intense and significant on the different southern Tyrrhenians, and snow falls down to low altitudes in a large part of the country.
Furthermore, the bad weather phase will be accompanied by a marked reinforcement of western ventilation.
The Department of Civil Protection foresees strong to stormy winds from late evening, with gusts of storm, from the southern quadrants on Liguria and western quadrants on Sardinia, Tuscany and Lazio, especially coastal areas.
From tomorrow's early hours, Saturday 2 April, strong aburras winds are expected, with gusts of strong storms, from the western quadrant on Campania, Basilicata, Calabria and Sicily.
Strong storm surges will also be possible along the exposed coasts.
From the night of today, snowfalls above 500-700 meters are also expected on Sardinia, Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio, Abruzzo and Molise, in extension to Basilicata and Calabria, where the snowfall will be above 700-900 meters, with contributions to the ground from moderate weakness.
On the basis of the expected and ongoing phenomena, a yellow alert was assessed for tomorrow, Saturday 2 April, in Umbria, Abruzzo, Lazio, Campania, Calabria, Molise and Basilicata.
