Gazprom has begun to notify customers of the new gas payment mechanism by giving technical indications, after the Kremlin ordered a new system that mandatorily provides for the conversion of payments into rubles.
This was announced by the Russian state-owned gas group in its Telegram channel, explaining that "as a Russian company, Gazprom is unconditionally and fully subject to Russian law" but that "it is a responsible partner and will continue to export gas to customers safely".
"We have received the communication from Gazprom and we are analyzing it. For the moment we have no other comments."

Gazprom Germany deals with the trade, transportation and storage of natural gas and is not currently hit by sanctions. It is unclear whether the announcement will impact Russia's gas supplies to Germany.
Just yesterday, rumors spread that the German Ministry of Economy, in order to avoid possible bankruptcies, was considering the nationalization or expropriation of the German branches of Gazprom and Rosneft.
