Ill Bruce Willis: Golden Raspberry is withdrawn

2022-04-01T00:06:18.601Z

The »Golden Raspberry« is awarded for particularly awful film appearances – Bruce Willis recently received one. In view of the actor's health, the anti-award has now been cancelled.

The prize is usually distributed close to the Oscars.

But unlike the Academy Awards, no one in Hollywood is keen on the Golden Raspberry.

After all, the disgraceful prize is only awarded for, from the point of view of the distributor, particularly poor acting performances and screwed-up projects.

Now, however, those responsible have withdrawn the abusive prize recently awarded to Bruce Willis.

The reason is the actor's recent illness.

"If medical conditions are a factor in a person's decisions or performance, then it is inappropriate to give them a raid," the group said in a statement Thursday.

The day before it had become public that the 67-year-old "Die Hard" star was ending his acting career due to illness.

He has been diagnosed with aphasia, which affects his cognitive abilities, his family said in a statement.

The organizers of the “Golden Raspberry” or “Razzies” had come up with a special section for Willis this year – on the grounds that he had eight bad roles in 2021, including in films such as “American Siege”, “Deadlock” and “Cosmic Sin«.

Aphasias are disorders, such as speaking, understanding, writing or reading, which can occur as a result of various diseases, often after a stroke.

According to information from the Los Angeles Times, Willis's colleagues had apparently noticed in recent months that the actor was increasingly struggling with memory problems.

Much encouragement for Willis from Hollywood

The news about Willis had caused quite a stir in Hollywood.

“Mercy and courage!

Love you all,” actress Jamie Lee Curtis wrote.

Model Cindy Crawford posted a prayer emoji.

Willis' colleague Elizabeth Perkins said, "Sending so much love to you all."

Actress Debi Mazar commented, "What an incredible career.

May he rest and recover.« The US journalist Katie Couric wished »much love and healing«.

Director Len Wiseman (»Die Hard 4.0«) wished Willis and his family »love and strength«.

Willis is a "great actor, legendary action star, incredible father and good friend," producer and director Randall Emmett told People magazine.

Last year he shot the thriller Midnight in the Switchgrass with Willis and Megan Fox.
