Ukraine: Cai, corn and soft wheat prices down

(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 01 - The glimmers of peace in Ukraine push down, even in Italy, the prices of agricultural products, corn (-2.5%) and soft wheat (-2%) in the lead, while durum wheat ( + 1%) records a slight increase compared to the last few weeks.

This was announced by CAI - Agricultural Consortiums of Italy, based on the weekly survey of the Bologna Commodity Exchange, a reference point in Italy for physical trading of agricultural products.



To determine this scenario, in a market that remains very unstable, the collapse of trading in financial markets such as Chicago and Paris, which welcomed the timid signs of relaxation of the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in Turkey.



Soft wheat dropped by 8 euros (-2%) compared to last week, settling between 400 and 409 euros per ton, with 434 euros for more protein cereals.

Corn continued to decline reaching 385 euros per ton, down by 10 euros compared to last week (-2.5%).



On the other hand, durum wheat increased by 5 euros (+ 1%) compared to last Thursday, at 530 euros per ton.



Soybeans remained stable at € 708 per ton, while sorghum and barley also fell by 2% compared to the last survey.
