Amy Schumer is a woman who keeps nothing in her stomach.

In recent years she has confessed that her husband is autistic, told about her difficulties getting pregnant and getting pregnant, and even found out that she had undergone hysterectomy following endometriosis, and liposuction of her buttocks.

She is now opening one of the great mental struggles of her life.



Recently during an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, the 40-year-old actress and comedian said that she suffers from trichotillomania - a disorder that causes her to tear her hair.

In the same interview she also admitted that she fears her three-year-old son will develop the disease.

Although the comedian has said she has been suffering from this condition for years, it remains a "big secret," she said.

"I think everyone has a big secret and it's mine," she said, "and I'm proud of my big secret just hurting me, but that's what I've been carrying so much shame on for so long."



Shumer said that once as a child she faced the stress of her parents' breakup and the fact that her father was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, she tore her hair so drastically that she had to wear a wig before going to school.

Schumer clarified that she is still struggling with trichotillomania, as this is not a transient problem.

She also has concerns that her son, Gene, may eventually suffer from the condition, as "genetics may play a role in the development of the disease," according to the Mayo Clinic.

"Every time he touches his head I get a heart attack," she said.



"I really do not want to have a bigger secret," she explained, "and I thought sharing would help me alleviate some of my shame and maybe, hopefully, help others ease some of their shame as well. That's what I was most ashamed of. It feels really liberating to finally let go. a part of this".
