How do I verify a vacation home rental?
Fraud is on the increase on the net and unfortunately vacation rentals are no exception to this practice.
Many holidaymakers have been "ripped off" by paying deposits or even the entire price for a rental that does not ultimately exist... Several signs can alert the Internet user to possible fraud, including:
An astonishing e-mail address:
Be sure to check the e-mail addresses of the owners, which must end in “@” with the name of the operator, such as “Bouygues Télécom, Orange, Sfr” or even “gmail, yahoo…”.
If the email address is too long, too complicated or with numbers, beware!
An offer that is far too attractive:
Indeed, it is important to compare agencies, sites, and you must be wary of offers that are too attractive.
