“I would like to thank Sam Levinson, the creator of

Euphoria

, who believed in me and gave me the creative freedom to develop my character,” she said at the opening ceremony of the Canneséries Festival, Friday, April 1.

An event during which Sydney Sweeney, the interpreter of Cassie Howard in the show signed HBO, received the Madame Figaro Rising Star Award, which rewards a rising star, from the hands of the editor-in-chief of the magazine, Clara Dufour.

“It was a great honor, said the actress at the microphone of

Madame Figaro

.

I am truly grateful that my work has been recognized over the past few years.”

What do you like most about Cassie, your character in the

Euphoria

series ?

Sydney Sweeney.

-

As an actress, I love the fact that she lives so many things, that life is not always easy for her and that the elements do not always work in her favor.

Cassie is pretty crazy but it's very interesting to play this role.

In Season 2, Cassie continues to try to represent what she thinks Nate's ideal is.

Sydney Sweeney

In season 2, Cassie no longer wants to be in the shadow of her best friend Maddy, and asserts herself more.

How would you describe its evolution?

I don't think she doesn't want to be in Maddy's shadow anymore, she just doesn't want to lose Nate (

Jacobs, Maddy's ex-boyfriend, editor's note

) or for him to go back between the Maddy's arm.

She keeps trying to embody what she thinks is Nate's ideal, whether it's a mixture of Maddy, herself, or Jules.

Do you have a ritual before each shoot?

I create books dedicated to my characters.

It's like a diary, which I fill in for each of the roles I prepare.

What do you particularly like about shooting a series that you don't find on the set of a film?

During the filming of

Euphoria

, we spent a lot of time together, and we were on set much longer than we were on the set of a movie.

We have become a real family.

I enjoyed that a lot because most of the time you go from one place to another without having the opportunity to build those kind of friendships and relationships that will last a lifetime.

Thanks to

Euphoria

, as we were together much more often than for other projects, we all experienced a moment of our life together.

We can count on each other.

Exposure

You lamented in an interview the fact that when a man shoots a sex scene or shows his body, his performance is praised and still earns him awards, but that for a woman, it's totally different...

For several years journalists have been asking me questions about nudity, about how I feel about it, instead of talking about the work I do.

I don't think men are asked these kinds of questions, and think the same way when it comes to them.

You said in an interview that you like playing scary characters.

What characters would you like to play in the future?

I would like to embody a kind of feminine Joker.

It would be great fun.
