At the turn of the month, new rules came into force for people in Germany - and some of them are likely to have a positive effect on their own wallets.

April brings with it several exciting innovations.

The best known is probably that in large parts of Germany, including in Baden-Württemberg, most of the Corona rules fall.

In most cases, masks and tests will then be a thing of the past, and things will also change when it comes to shopping from April.

But these changes are far from everything.

Improvements are pending for different groups of workers.

The minimum wage for temporary workers will be raised from 10.45 euros to 10.88 euros per hour on April 1st.

This is even higher than the generally applicable minimum wage in Germany, as

reported

by Sat1.de.

Wages will also be raised for federal civil servants in Germany – by 1.4 percent, as echo24.de * reports.

That changes in April: These professional groups get more money

Nursing assistants and nurses can also look forward to wage increases from this month.

As reported

by rbb24.de

, nursing assistants now earn 12.55 euros per hour, for nursing staff the hourly wage increases to 15.40 euros.

However, there is a caveat here.

Accordingly, only nursing staff who are employed in companies can be happy.

The so-called “relocation fee” will also increase from April.

Employees who have to move for professional reasons can assert this against the tax office.

The actual costs do not have to be proven for this.

Flat rates per adult and dependents are much more likely to apply.

Rule changes in April: Better conditions for moving flat rate and lottery calls

This means that up to 1,476 euros can be deducted from April 1st if a partner moves with you, 886 euros can be reimbursed for singles and the flat rate provides an additional 590 euros for children and other relatives.

A further relief comes to all those who cheer on TV shows like Let's Dance, DSDS, The Voice or The Masked Singer and call for or against the candidates.

The same applies to TV sweepstakes.

Because the Federal Network Agency has now set the prices for sweepstakes calls by law.

The telephone call for 0137 numbers can now only cost a maximum of one euro per minute or call.

That changes in April: driver's license and corona premium are affected

Exciting for everyone who wants to get their driver's license in the coming months: From April there will be new questions for the theoretical driver's license test - in all vehicle classes.

Nevertheless, there will also be changes for older drivers from 2022, because many driving licenses will expire - the first deadline expires in July.

Two other innovations will apply from April, which are not so positive.

According to the United Income Tax

Aid (VLH),

the Corona premium, which could still be paid out tax-free up to the end of March with up to 1,500 euros, will have to be taxed again from April .

Workers on short-time work also have to pay their social security themselves again.
