Label News has just wrapped production on 'Marilyn, Her Final Secret', an investigative documentary that sheds light on the identity of Marilyn Monroe's biological father, whom the actress has never met.
Variety announces it.
Directed by Francois Pomès, the documentary is based on an exclusive DNA research carried out by Ludovic Orlando, a molecular archeology expert working in southern France.
Orlando used a sample of the diva's hair made available by collector John Reznikoff, as well as a saliva sample from the great-grandson of Marilyn's alleged father, Charles Stanley Gifford.
The documentary intertwines archival images and interviews that chronicle Monroe's desperate efforts to find her father.
"The hair of the actress we used was collected from the person who embalmed her body the day she died and we were able to derive 22% of her genetic profile thanks to a fragment of DNA found in the keratin" explained Pomès, who is also producing the documentary for Label News.
The director-producer said he "spent years and sleepless nights" making this one-hour documentary and once and for all reveal who Monroe's father was, "since he broke" a family secret ". "
'Marilyn, Her Final Secret' will premiere in June on the French channel Toute l'Histoire.
