The Higher Education Council issued executive instructions for its decision to grant a new opportunity to exhausted and discontinued open education students to re-register and join the open education programs at their universities.

In its decision, which SANA received a copy of today, the council allowed the open education student who had exhausted the permitted registration opportunities to register again in the program in which he was exhausted, for a fee of 35,000 Syrian pounds for each course.

A student benefiting from the foregoing may not remain enrolled in the program for more than two additional years, distributed over his university life as follows: If the student is exhausted for the first time, he is granted only one additional academic year, and in the event of failure in the same year again, he is dismissed and he is not entitled to return.

Second: Likewise, the student who benefited from the additional year and was raised to a higher year than the year in which he was exhausted for the first time and continued his studies and was exhausted a second time in any year, is entitled to benefit from a second additional year.

The instructions stated: that when the student is promoted to the higher year, he continues his studies in accordance with the rules adopted in the open education system, especially in terms of the retention period specified at 3 years in each academic year, and demands payment of the prescribed course fee of 35,000 Syrian pounds until graduation.

The council set the dates for registration according to the following: Before the issuance of this decision, the exhausted student must register starting from the second semester of the year 2021-2022. .

According to the instructions, an open education student who has dropped out of registration starting from the academic year 2010-2011 until the date of this decision is entitled to re-join the program according to several conditions: to apply for re-engagement within a maximum period of 31-12-2022 and to pay the fee of three courses for each A class that has been interrupted since 2018-2019 until the date of its re-engagement at a value of 35,000 Syrian pounds for each course and to pay a fee of 35,000 Syrian pounds for the course starting from the date of its re-engagement until graduation. The student is granted a period of 3 years in each academic year and benefits from the provisions of this Decision in the event of exhaustion.

The Council stressed that the student benefiting from the provisions of this decision must register on the dates specified for registration, indicating that the student registered in accordance with the provisions of this decision does not benefit from the reduction of university fees, regardless of the method of admission to the program, and students registered in the programs that have been canceled do not benefit from the provisions of this decision.
