Sarah Connor has been touring Germany for a week and a half.

On Tuesday evening (April 5th) she gave one of the last concerts of her "Herz Kraft Werke" tour - in the Olympiahalle in Munich.

For most of them it is probably the first concert visit since the end of the mask requirement.

But there are still a few places available on Tuesday evening in the Olympic Hall.

Many seem to be critical of the newly won freedom in view of the still high corona numbers.

Sarah Connor, on the other hand, is happy that she can finally not only see the eyes of her fans, but also their noses and mouths.

She promises to distract her audience for the next two and a half hours and provide some lightness.

And yet it is an emotional evening when Sarah Connor sings soulful ballads in front of thousands of people, makes political statements and speaks openly about her fight against panic attacks.

Sarah Connor takes the time to chat with her fans

"HERZ KRAFT WERKE" is Sarah Connor's second German album after "Muttersprache".

With texts like "I wish you courage and trust in yourself", the Berliner-by-choice manages to

address her audience personally and create a connection.

The relationship with her fans is a special one.

You notice that when Sarah Connor shares anecdotes from her life.

The 41-year-old tells of the lockdown that her family had to endure with her.

She can be quite a "puke", as she herself admits.

As a thank you or much more as an apology, she wrote a song for her loved one: "Between we are friends".

Addressing her husband Florian Fischer, Sarah Connor sings: "You are sexy, clever and wise and, unlike me, sometimes quiet".

Loud yet vulnerable

That fits the picture that the singer conveys on Tuesday evening.

She is tough, confident and loud.

So loud that you can feel the vibration of her voice in your whole body.

In her songs, she effortlessly switches from powerful passages to gentle, soulful ones.

When she performs one of her older songs "Bounce", there is jumping, clapping and cheering in the Olympic Hall.

In order to be even closer to her fans, the singer descends from the stage.

One or the other is even lucky enough to get an autograph.

And yet Sarah Connor also has a completely different side.

She admits she struggled with panic attacks for years.

Once she simply disappeared from the stage during a performance.

Her band had

no idea what was happening and she thought: "I can't go back there now!" So far she has been spared on the current tour.

This is also because she feels more connected to her fans today.

Corona has taught her that many are going through the same things as her.

Sarah Connor draws attention to the war in Ukraine

And then there are people who are currently experiencing much worse things – Sarah Connor also wants to remind them.

With a peace sign on her shirt, she draws attention to the situation in Ukraine.

She calls

on people to get involved politically, to give German lessons to refugees or simply to listen.

Sarah Connor herself welcomed a Ukrainian family into her home.

"We need love again," she sings.

And the audience agrees: "Love, love, love".
