M5s asked, during the meeting of the Bureau of the Constitutional Affairs Commission of the Chamber, to resume the examination of the electoral law and to set the deadline for the amendments to the basic text, the so-called Germanicum, presented by President Giuseppe Brescia (M5s ) in January 2019. The request was made by the parent company Vittoria Baldino.

After the request made by Baldino, a brief debate opened in which Andrea Giorgis, responsible for reforms of the Democratic Party and Emanuele Prisco of Fdi intervened.

Giorgis said that the time was not ripe to reopen the dossier on the electoral law, while Emanuele Prisco said that "it is not the priority".

"The corrective to the cut of parliamentarians - Prisco told ANSA - is already there and today, with Italians struggling with expensive energy, war, bills that shut down businesses, if the priority is to return to the former republic with a law that allows those who have lost the elections to remain in the government, we report it to the citizens ".

The bureau ended without a decision.

The Democratic Party is ready to discuss the electoral law, but is not open to any forcing, which among other things would lead nowhere. "Andrea Giorgis, the Democratic Party responsible for reforms, summarized his intervention in the office, told Ansa chair of the Constitutional Affairs Commission of the Chamber where M5s asked to set the deadline for amendments to the electoral law. "Given that for the Democratic Party - said Giorgis - it would be useful to discuss and see if there are conditions for constitutional reforms that remedy the distortions resulting from the cut in the number of parliamentarians, such as the increase in Parliament's powers in joint session, or constructive mistrust, if you want to discuss it then start from there.

We have always said that the

current electoral law is not the best, but it must be discussed with profit.

The Democratic Party is not available to any forcing and the electoral, with all the reforms, changes by a large majority ".

"Politics does everything it can to show that citizens do not count for anything: I would like to know from Letta what they think of those who say, I am thinking of Zingaretti, that the majority is unstable. custom unworthy of changing the electoral law every time? ".

Thus the leader of FdI, Giorgia Meloni at the presentation of the 2022 Report Iri Freedoms at risk: the challenge of the century organized by the Fare Futuro Foundation.

"The electoral law must be in the majority", she adds.
