Jörg Kachelmann warns: "Saturday is such a day for pile-ups."

How is it looking?
For weeks the weather was duck pond, so for many people the next three days will be "surprising", as it is called.
Thursday the cold front, partly with thunderstorms and gusts of up to 100 km/h, locally a bit over the top.
On Thursday evening at 8 p.m. you can see the gusts arriving in the south, behind them a break, and a new storm on the North Sea.
(You can find matching cards here.)
Friday evening the second round with a storm in the very south, on the night of Saturday partly snow all the way down.
Saturday then a classic April weather day with sleet and sleet thunderstorms wildly alternating with sunshine.
How can this be explained?
The weather is going to be drafty for a few days.
The duck pond weeks of March are over.
On Friday it will blow nine kilometers over Berlin at 250 km/h.
Above is the jet, below the consequences can also be felt.
What's next?
Spring is coming again next week (for example in Berlin – see here ).
Advantage: no more heating.
Disadvantage: East Germany in particular would have needed more rain.
What should I do?
When the storm is at its peak, stay away from trees and other flying material.
It never takes long, so just move walking or driving through the forest or in avenues accordingly.
And also the walk.
And for Friday night, note that everything can turn white again, especially in the southernmost low mountain ranges.
Don't go into the sleet storm on Saturday at 200 km/h, that's a day for mass collisions through ice and spray that blinds you with the sun.
And what are you doing?
I'm happy about the exciting weather and I hope that thanks to the warnings here on SPIEGEL.de everyone is still alive on Sunday.
