Sea rescuers rescued three girls from acute danger from the Schlei.
The German Society for the Rescue of Shipwrecked Said that the girls paddled out in a canoe on the Baltic Sea arm in Schleswig-Holstein.
They were then unable to return to shore under their own power in a stormy wind.
Girls were exhausted
A harbor master in Borgwedel observed the canoe and alerted the sea rescuers, it is said.
When the helpers arrived, the 14 to 16-year-old girls were several hundred meters from land by canoe.
Due to the weather, a “not inconsiderable” amount of water got into the canoe.
Rain soaked the "completely exhausted" young people.
The sea rescuers took the girls on board and looked after them.
Hospital treatment was not necessary.
