Spring cleaning checklist: With these tips, the apartment will be clean and tidy

The days are getting longer and motivation is increasing: the perfect time for spring cleaning.

With this checklist you can do the cleaning in no time.

Munich – Spring cleaning works differently than weekly cleaning: now it’s time for the big tasks.

You should therefore proceed systematically so as not to lose track and motivation.

It is best to create a plan with individual to-dos - nothing is more fun than crossing an item off the list when the work is done.

Spring cleaning is also good for us, and not just for the apartment.

Systematic spring cleaning

The best way to do this is to write a checklist of all the tasks you want to accomplish during your spring cleaning.

For example, the list could look like this:

• Clean out, wipe out and put back closets

• Store winter clothes in the basement, put summer clothes in cupboards

• wipe doors

• Clean windows and window frames

• hang and wash curtains

• Dusting, including the top of the cabinets

• Bring carpets to the cleaners

If you want to be even more thorough, you can add these points to your spring cleaning checklist:

• Clear out basement and attic

• Clean radiators

• Empty and clean the fridge

• Defrost and clean freezer

• Clean computer keyboard

• Descale the shower head and faucets

Do you find it difficult to clear out?

Then try the three-box method:

• “Keep” box: This is where you put everything that you definitely want to keep in your closet.

• Box "Don't know": It's been a long time since you've worn the blue summer dress - but maybe it's back in style this summer?

  Put it in the "don't know" box!

• Box "can go": Clear case - these clothes are worn out, don't fit or don't like anymore.

  The second-hand shop or the Caritas are happy about it.

Three means for environmentally friendly cleaning

In the drugstore you will find a variety of cleaning and cleaning products - but you do not really need all of them for your spring cleaning.

According to BR - "We in Bavaria", household expert Elke Sommer recommends these three cleaners:

• An alkaline cleaner that dissolves fats.

  Use this to clean the windows and tiles.

• One

  Acid for removing limescale.

  It works best if you soak the shower head.

• All-purpose cleaner or curd soap for cleaning smooth surfaces

Also useful are baking soda for cleaning the stove and oven, cotton swabs for hard-to-reach places, and a toothbrush for cleaning grout.

It is best to get all the cleaning supplies you need in good time beforehand.

Then you can get started right away and take advantage of the spring motivation.

A good tip at the end: always work from back to front and from top to bottom.

This way you don't get cleaned surfaces dirty again with falling dust or dripping rags.
