The German airline Condor has unveiled the new "uniforms" of its aircraft, and they are definitely eye-catching.

The company, which specializes mainly in flights designed for vacations, explains that the striped patterns that now adorn its planes that look like giant candies, are meant to evoke images reminiscent of, among other things, parasols, bath towels and beach chairs.

Coming soon: colored stripes on the uniform

The initial launch of the new aircraft colors includes colors that represent a different aspect of vacations: yellow (sun), red (passion), blue (sea), green (islands) and beige (beaches).

Ralph Tekentrop, CEO of Condor, says the airline is aiming to repaint up to 80% of its current fleet, by 2024. And its tradition, while at the same time embarking on a future path.

"Tekentrop added that" we want to express this unequivocally, through our corporate identity: Condor means vacation, and it can not be mistaken. "

The Stuff website reports that Condor currently has a fleet of 51 aircraft, with future orders for 16 new Airbus A330-900s and two new Airbus A330-200s.

But the new color is not limited to airplanes: soon, the new look will be used throughout the Condor trip experience - from flight booking sites, through boarding passes to crew uniforms.

This is definitely not a hoax

The company's website reads, among other things: "As an international leisure company, we are known not only for our flights but also for connecting with people and building bridges between cultures and regions of the world. You, as our guests on board the plane, are just as diverse as our destinations. "Our employees. This variety has many aspects and colors, and that's the reason for the new design."

The announcement of the new launch stated: "Colors are not only found around the globe during the holidays. They also represent the fact that our world can not be defined by just one color. Therefore, our aircraft fleet expects a new design, made of stripes-stripes and especially colorful."

As expected, the new look of the company's aircraft drew with it different reactions from each other.

For example, Ben Schlapping, one of the correspondents at One Mile At A Time, noted that "it's so ridiculous - I love it."

Many posts on social media were less nice.

"This is a strange, unusual and completely illogical choice," another commenter wrote on his Twitter account.

"Honestly, this is one of the worst examples of 'uniform' planes I've ever seen," commented another.

And there were quite a few respondents who wondered if this was a late April Fool’s prank.
