Rungis, Nantes, Bordeaux ... In several French cities, VTC drivers were called to demonstrate this Wednesday morning at the call of the national inter-union VTC (INV), to denounce the impoverishment of their profession, in the context of rising fuel prices.

In Rungis, in the Val-de-Marne, around forty drivers had been demonstrating since 4 a.m. near the famous market, according to BFM Paris Île-de-France, blocking the Porte de Thiais and causing traffic jams.
In Nantes, a snail operation caused traffic jams on the ring road.
Twenty drivers would participate, according to France Bleu.
In Bordeaux, traffic on the ring road was severely disrupted by this social movement.
Similar actions were also planned in Lyon and Toulouse.
"Evolving fuel voucher" and reimbursement of the TICPE
This national mobilization follows several others in recent weeks.
In a press release published on Tuesday, the INV explains that it wants to “
make the distress of VTC drivers heard in the face of the growing difficulties
” of the profession, hit “
full force by the successive crises (yellow vests, Covid-19, Ukrainian crisis, etc. )
”.
The inter-union also wishes to denounce “
the total laxity of the government on the regulation of (the) profession, leaving the field free to digital platforms
”.

In particular, it calls on the executive to set up a “
scalable fuel check
” and the reimbursement of the floating TICPE (domestic consumption tax on energy products) for VTC drivers, to deal with the rise in fuel prices.
According to BFM Paris Île-de-France, VTC unions must be received by the Val-de-Marne prefecture and the delegation of the Ministry of Transport this Wednesday afternoon.
They are already planning a new demonstration in Place d'Italie in Paris on Thursday morning.
