This mirror site is fed by the same articles as those published on the classic version of the media.

They are translated from French into English by two American agencies, ProofreadingServices.com and Lionbridge, before being sent to the editorial offices in Paris and Los Angeles.

A team of dedicated journalists is then responsible for checking, enriching and editing the subjects.

Subscribers will also benefit from a daily newsletter.

Aggregate audiences

The objective of the newspaper is to aggregate audiences outside France.

A press release from the group specifies that it seeks to capture the attention of readers present “

in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Belgium and Luxembourg

”.

All with a view to obtaining new digital subscribers.

Le Monde

aims to reach the symbolic milestone of one million paper and web subscribers by 2025. In February 2022, the daily had 375,500 digital subscribers, according to figures from the ACPM.

This is not the first time that a press title has sought to go beyond its borders by translating its articles into other languages.

The

New York Times

has already paved the way, in November 2021 it listed one million subscribers abroad.
