They are accused of a variety of crimes.

A total of 29 objects in and around Hanover were searched on Wednesday.

The investigators confiscated money, jewelry, watches and luxury cars worth 1.2 million euros.

In addition, the officers had seized drugs, a firearm and cell phones, among other things.

According to the information, the main suspects have been under investigation since last year.

The background is therefore evaluations of the crypto mobile phone service Encrochat, which encrypts the communication in a special way.

The reason was the allegation of trafficking in cocaine and marijuana, which is directed against the four main suspects.

Lower Saxony's Justice Minister Barbara Havliza (CDU) spoke of decisive action against clan crime.
